Oregon

spring break started off with a fun trip up to oregon to visit grandma beth. we all had a great time! she lives in the most beautiful place. we stayed with aunt ruthie and uncle wayne and had so much fun at their home.... it is a great place for kids! the boys had a blast roasting marshmallows in the backyard, climbing trees, playing at the coolest park, playing with zoe...the kitty they gave to grandma years ago, hunting for bugs and glowing rocks, and we can't forget being towed by uncle wayne on the riding lawn mower... tons of fun! it was a great trip!
oh - and i can't leave out that i actually read twilight during the drive...finally!

Easter Sunday

we had an absolutely gorgeous easter sunday. unfortunately i only took pics of savanna in her easter duds and left the boys out... i am hoping to get some good pictures of them some other sunday. we had a yummy dinner, a super fun egg hunt with cousins, and beautiful weather! the only thing missing was a few of our cousins, aunts and uncles.

our california boy

mr. e, ethanator, ethan-eater, ethan 'cookie'... however you put it, this kid is a riot!
he came into this world, march 13, 2004 in clovis, california....18 days earlier than expected. he loves that he and daddy were both born in CA and both have blue eyes!
he truly believes that he was born on the matterhorn... in his little mind, california is disneyland, so it must have been the matterhorn... he'll tell you all about it if you ask... and there's definitely no making him believe otherwise!

he is the best thing that happened to us while we attempted to put down roots in CA, only to move many times in his first year. it was a year of pure craziness, but our little "love" made it all better. back then he was always full of huge smiles, huge baby chub rolls, huge laughs...
still to this day he has a huge personality, huge facial expressions with his huge eyes, (he is still pretty huge too... just a big thick kid...i can barely lift him these days!), he has a huge imagination(making up funny and detailed stories all the time!), he says hilarious things, and is pretty determined to do whatever he decides... like when i am calling for him to "come here" his reply is "i'm ignoring you"... like trying to convince me to buy a paint roller so he can paint his room red (his favorite color) ... the other night he went and got in bed, so tired. well i went in his room to get him to come and brush his teeth and he told me "i'm too tired to move my fat little body!" i was laughing so hard! i didn't know, but apparently that is a line from a movie he had been watching earlier ... i often find things in my shopping cart as i am checking out that i definitely did not put there. he likes to do his own shopping when we are out. on one of our recent trips to walmart, he grabbed a bunch of silk flowers that he really wanted to give to his favorite girl, hallie. he also wanted to buy her some betty boop socks, i talked him into the flowers. he is just hilarious! he has a great memory, and a very inquisitive mind!
we just love this boy and are so glad he came to us 4 short years ago!

we celebrated his birthday with donuts for breakfast, a fun party with some friends during the day... so glad cousin macy was here too! we had pizza and then headed over to jumpin' jacks for some serious fun!

later that night we had another bash with the family... good times.

happy birthday ethan! you are the best!

oh the snow...

is finally gone for good...at least we think so...
we sure did enjoy it while it lasted which seemed like forever this winter! i don't remember having this much snow in a long long time! the big boys got in some good ski time, ethan and savanna sure loved their sled rides and clint will surely miss all the shoveling! we are so ready for spring, but definitely had a fun winter. one day, when fresh snow had fallen, the boys were all getting ready to play outside. ethan came running in to us saying he needed a "snow necklace like cameron's"... well it took us a while but we figured out he was talking about a scarf... i love my little ones and the funny things they do and say!

***i need to give credit where credit is due... this igloo was not built by my boys, it was in our neighbors yard...and very cool!...the boys are prepared to build one next winter, complete with instructions from the neighbors...now, we'll just have to see if mother nature delivers like she did this year!***

basketball boys...

basketball season came and went... barrett and cameron had a great season playing and clint was lucky enough to once again coach barrett's team! it really is fun and it makes me happy that clint is able to be so involved with the boys sports and things... i know it makes the boys happy and is something they will always remember...

Dr. Seuss Day

the boys had dr. seuss day at school today.
well cameron decided he wanted to dress up as Yertle the Turtle... so away he went working hard on a turtle costume. He cut, taped, drew, for hours and in the end decided it just might not work to wear an entire costume made out of paper to school...(i'm talkin', he made arm covers, leg covers, etc...) of course, we had tried to tell him that in the beginning, but he needed to figure it our for himself. so, at the last minute we came up with this option instead. he became Yertle with a simple turtle shell from a costume (thanks Suzandy!), and we attached his stuffed turtle on his back...
he seemed pleased with the end result!

oh and yes, she is now a 100% walker girl!!!
it's super cute and she is always on the go!
stay tuned for video footage!
oh and please excuse her half dressed, messy self...
it's bath time, it's bed time and apparently it's blog time...
but most of all... it's been a long 4 days with daddy out of town.

"that stinkin' toothfairy"

there is a problem in our home. the tooth fairy is consistently late and forgetful. almost always it is days and sometimes weeks before she actually remembers to visit the kids when they have lost a tooth. usually the kids have given up looking under their pillow each morning by the time she actually makes it here. well today i think cameron may have discovered the reason for her behavior. this morning, when i was informed that she had, once again, forgotten to visit cameron, i said "that stinkin' tooth fairy!". cameron then said, "mom, don't call her that. i'm sure that is why she isn't coming. she doesn't want to be in a house where my mom is calling her names." so, dear tooth fairy, i am deeply sorry and hope that you will make a visit to our home soon...
